Sacred Symbols Through Cultures in the Light of the Bible Across time and nations, people have physically marked themselves on the forehead, hands and body as a sign of identity, covenant, protection or spiritual insight. This theme explores three powerful symbols: 1. Tefillin from Judaism 2. Hand Bands from diverse indigenous and spiritual traditions 3. Pottu (Bindi) from Indian cultures Although they come from different cultural paths, all three echo the biblical call to carry God’s Word, identity, and light visibly and actively. 1. Tefillin       Dates back over 3,000 years, rooted in Hebrew tradition. Based on God's commandments in Torah: leather boxes with scrolls of Scripture, tied to forehead and arm. Represents obedience, remembrance, and God's law being bound to thought and action.  Old Testament Verses: “Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.” - Deuteronomy 6:8 “These commandments... Impress them on your children. Talk...

In the Shadows of Silence: Meeting God Where You Are?

What to Do? When You Feel Forgotten by God?

Did you feel that “God was silent” and doubt “God exists?” When the Heart fills with pain and prays, but God is unanswered or feels your prayer is empty or unseen. Like no reply and no response. Not only do you, but everyone feels that way, but I can say that You're not Alone!. In this world, every human experiences this situation and overcomes it with or without realizing it. Yeah! Lot of history speaks about this spell too.

In the Bible, we can figure out the person like Joseph, David, Job, even Jesus-experienced moments where it seemed like God had turned His face away. But here’s the truth: God never forgets His children.

Let’s walk through what you can do when you feel forgotten by God.

1. Be Honest with God

God is not afraid of your honesty. In fact, He invites it.

“How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever?” - Psalm 13:1

David cried out, and yet he was called “a man after God’s own heart.” If you feel forgotten, tell Him. Pour out your heart in prayer, tears, or even frustration. That’s the beginning of healing.

2. Remember What God Has Done

When we’re in the valley, it’s easy to forget the mountain tops.

  • Has God ever answered a prayer for you in the past?

  • Has He brought you peace in hard times?

  • Did He show up when you didn’t expect Him to?

Write those things down. Revisit them. Just like the Israelites built memorial stones, build your own reminders of God’s faithfulness.

“Forget not all His benefits.” - Psalm 103:2

Thank him for all past benefits.

3. Cling to the Word, Not Your Feelings

Feelings are real, they can hurt or bring happiness. But they aren't always true.

You may feel forgotten, but God’s Word says:

“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”- Hebrews 13:5

Don’t let your emotions override what God has already promised. Trust the Word more than the whisper of doubt.

4. Stay Connected to God’s People

When we feel abandoned, the temptation is to isolate ourselves. But God often speaks through His people.

  • Reach out to a trusted friend or mentor.

  • Ask for prayer.

  • Join a Bible study, even when you don’t feel like it.

Your breakthrough may come through community.

5. Worship in the Waiting

Worship shifts your focus from the problem to the One who holds the solution.

Paul and Silas worshipped in prison. David sang while running for his life. Worship is an act of war against despair. Even if you can’t sing, whisper His name. Say “thank you” for what you still have.

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted.” - Psalm 34:18

Think! You Are Not Forgotten

God’s silence is never His absence. Just because you can’t see the plan doesn’t mean He’s not working.

Joseph sat in prison, forgotten by men but not by God.
Jesus cried, “My God, why have You forsaken me?” Yet three days later, the world was changed forever.

You are seen. You are loved. You are held.

“Can a mother forget her nursing child?... Yet I will not forget you. See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.” - Isaiah 49:15–16

- Have you ever felt forgotten by God?
- What helped you keep going during that time?

Share your thoughts below or reach out privately if you need prayer. You're not alone.
